Colson seniors celebrate Valentine’s Day

By ELISHA BAKER

We have been having such a good time here at the Colson Center.

Feb. 14 we had our Valentine’s Day party. Everyone decorated a beautiful Valentine’s bag and took it home full of candy.

For lunch we ordered Subway sandwiches, and we would like to thank Tammy Adams at the Isom Subway for doing such a great job. The sandwiches were delicious. Thanks, Tammy.

We would also like to thank Community Trust Bank and Steve Adams for the Abby cake they bring to us each month.

Thank you, Abby Wynn, you do a wonderful job baking cakes.

We would like to welcome Jerry Lucas back to the center. He has been in the hospital, and we wish him a speedy recovery.

Last week we got to go visit the Boone Fork Center. Everyone was so nice to us, and it was good to see all of our friends from other centers there.

Trenda Kincer, our wonderful director, talked to us about medicine management and gave us information on how important exercising is to us.

The good cooks at Boone Fork provided us with a great meatloaf dinner. Thanks to Debbie and the girls .

We also got to go to the Pine Mountain Grill for a Heart Fair. We got a lot of healthful information.

We have a few January birthdays that we would like to mention: Ricky Simmons, Matthew Simmons, Charlie R. Sexton, Debbie Isaac, Beth Mason, Linda Sturgill and Drax Fouts.

Our birthdays for February are: Geraline Grimm, Joann Hall, Burnett Tackett, Bruce Sturgill, Linda Lou Lucas and Opal Fouts.

We wish each one a happy birthday.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of our neighbors, Gloria Lowe, who died recently. Everyone keep her family in your thoughts and prayers this week.

So if you are 60 or over, come and enjoy with us. We play Bingo, exercise, watch TV, work, play games and enjoy being with our friends at the center.

Stay safe, and our prayer is may God always be with you.
