Hey. This is an angry American, and I think all Americans are angry when they pull up to the gas pumps. If America is producing fuel and shipping it to China, this makes us no different than camel riders. Why doesn’t the government do something about this if it is made in the United States and we are shipping it to China? We need help at the gas pumps and we aren’t getting it from Congress. Matter of fact, Congress sucks. Has anybody seen my medication?

Revelation Ranch, while you were name dropping all the people to thank for the rodeo you should have had the courtesy to apologize for damages from the horses to Isom and the cemetery. Just like at Calvary Campus, you tear up, take the money and move on. These good people are fooled only for a time.

.

I’m subscribe to TVS Cable. Whenever I drive the back roads from Whitesburg towards Vicco I see two to three of those white trucks parked somewhere on the side of the road taking it easy. My television was out during the NCAA championship game. I bet you I will go to Dish Network or DirecTV as soon as possible.

.

I have a great idea as to how to get the Cavalier mural replaced on the wall in Jenkins. We could dress up Terry Braddock and Don Amburgey in Kelly green Cavalier uniforms and have their pictures taken behind the jailhouse bars — where those who commit an act of vandalism should be taken — and paint the picture on the wall. They have talked the talk about replacing the mural, but they still haven’t honored their commitment. Maybe they can apply for a grant. I’ll bet that would look pretty on an application for grant money — ‘We are applying for money to replace the mural that we vandalized in Jenkins. Please rush the money. We need to get this done quickly so that person will quit putting stuff in Speak Your Piece.’

Hello, this is the Queen Bee and I am now accepting new members into my non-profit committee. As a new member you will be asked to participate in various fundraisers throughout the year as we raise money for the cause. You will not be burdened with decision making because I will make all of the decisions. You will not have to worry about accountability. Just give me the money and trust me. Next, I will administer a short intelligence test. Question No.1, How do you spell the word farm? If your answer is E-I-E-I-O, that is correct. Question No. 2, Make a sentence using the word farm. If your answer is ‘Old MacDonald had a farm, E-I-E-I-O,’ that is correct. You aren’t nearly as smart as a fifth grader, but that is okay — you are still smart enough to serve on my committee. Just trust me and give me the money.

.

I own the right-hand fork of Cram Creek and somebody broke into my house the other day, vandalized it and threw stuff all over. I am the guy in pink. If anybody knows who did this, there is a little reward. To whoever did this: If you feel a twoby four upside your head, look around. The guy in pink might be standing behind you, you ignorant people. Anybody who did what you did is ignorant.

.

Blessings to Jamie and Rachel Reynolds on the newest adventure of their ministry. God bless you for having the same ministry inside closed doors as you have on the outside.

.

This is to one of the managers of McDonald’s: I just came through the drivethru, and right past the drive-thru were some of the workers standing outside the door smoking. As I passed them smoke came into my car. Can you please see that they smoke somewhere else so that other people don’t have to inhale their smoke when they drive by? Thank you.

.

I’d like to ask God to forgive all of these women who go to church and stay on the phone and gossip about everybody else and act like they are complete angels. Well, angels are in heaven. I hope they know that.

.

Ryan Bentley of Jenkins High School was one of the five best receivers in the state last year. Jenkins has a lot of talent. Do everything you can to come out and support these young men.

.

This is going out to all mothers and people who have children in Letcher County: I have a grandson. At the age of eight the judge has let him decide whether he wants to live with his mother or dad. He said he wanted to live with his dad, but now he says he was told to say that or he was going to get a good beating. A child at the age of eight is not able or capable of making his mind up. He was afraid not to say what he said. Now he wants to come back home and he doesn’t know what to do. He is afraid if he goes in and says anything to anybody they will still make him go back, and that he would also get a beating. We can’t find any help. They said unless the child talks they don’t trust anyone because he is absolutely afraid. We do have an attorney and we have spoken to social workers. This child is still afraid. If anybody has a response, please respond in next week’s Speak Your Piece. We are trying to get some opinions on what to do.

.

Can we dispense with the myth of ‘student athletes’ after the University of Kentucky won the national basketball championship and its five starters — all freshmen and sophomores — indicated they’d quit college and file for the NBA draft?

.

To the guy who wonders if his sweetheart of long ago ever feels as he does: How will you ever know if you don’t ask her? I lost mine in 1952, and thought about her every day. After more than 40 years, I decided to contact her. We’ve been married now for more than 10 years, and I’ve never been happier. Good luck to you.

.

I read in The Mountain Eagle about the Killer Neace Dump Committee. What is the address of the committee that wants to name the Perry County dump after Killer Neace? Please put it in the paper. There are a lot of politicans who need to be dumped. Instead they have buildings named after them.

.

To a certain girl in Mayking: I just want you to know how much I appreciate you. You are beautiful and are a perfect person, woman, mother and loving signifi- cant other. You are my soul mate and I will love you forever and always. I love you, my baby.

.

Nice to see that the Letcher County Tourism Commission, the City of Jenkins, and others recently received ARC grants. Just another good reason we should appreciate that we have a strong Federal government and a President caring enough to help us out. And Hal Rogers is still fully involved in helping to spread the wealth around.

.

I agree with Magistrate Wayne Fleming. I don’t want my coal severance tax money going to the hospital. Wayne Fleming told the truth. He is a good magistrate who will stand up for the people. As a voter of Letcher County, I was appalled that none of the other fiscal court members, including Letcher County Judge/Executive Jim Ward, would stand up for Wayne. I appreciate him for not wanting to give our coal severance money to the hospital. Wayne, hang in there. To the other fiscal court members: You should look at yourselves in the mirror and be ashamed of yourselves.

.

What’s wrong with the spirit of Whitesburg’s UK fans? They didn’t start a single fire or turn over even one car to celebrate. Seriously, could I ask one favor, especially of those who didn’t even go to school there? Wait until you win 12 national championships and pass up the greatest basketball university, UCLA, before you get so obnoxious again. Thank you.

.

Certain people are going around telling that this lady at Isom cursed the children at the Isom rodeo. We know this lady and she would not do that. Did she tell them to pick up the horse manure? Yes, she did.

.

I’d like to wish my daughter and son-in-law a happy birthday on April 16.

.

Jenkins Mayor G.C. Kincer, are you for real trying to get a big road coming down into the City of Jenkins off of U.S. 23? What are they coming into? A little, tiny town with one lane going and one lane coming and nothing there to offer but a Hardee’s and a Rite Aid. Get real. You want people to come into the city? Get more stuff in the city. Make the city a bigger place or something. Don’t bring them down here on a big road into nothing. Think about it.

.

I lost a bet a little while back on the Kentucky and Louisville basketball game. I bet on Louisville and lost. I lost big time, but I just want to say I still love my baby and I miss her. Just because I lost the ballgame doesn’t mean I don’t still love you.

.

I thought they had the copper syndicate in jail. Looks like Brian Damron of the sheriff ’s department better go backtracking his own job.

.

To a certain person: Happy birthday, baby. It was good seeing you that day. I am still hoping to hear from you. I love you.

.

I thought it was funny how when Misty Barker and Antoinio Russo got up to talk to the Jenkins City Council, the city attorney pretty much told them to sit their behinds back down. However, when the attorney’s sister-in-law talked he gave her all the time she needed. Give ’em hell, Barker. Give ’em hell, Russo.

.

I wish the guy on the Jenkins Board of Education who wears the blue UK jacket would start getting some sleep at nighttime. I can hardly stand to watch the school board meeting because he just sits and yawns the whole time.

.

I have a close dear friend of mine whose daughter went missing almost two weeks ago. I think it is a shame how the child’s other side of the family on her mother’s side sits and throws off on her about how disgraced they are and how she is not a relative because of what she has done. Before you sit and go off on that child, you better take a good look at yourself because your son is the one who carried the gun to school and you got so embarrassed because people were posting stuff on Facebook because of it. Before you sit and throw off on her, take a good look at yourself. Tell your sister and daughter to take a good look at their lives also. Before you throw the first stone, you better watch because your glass house can get broken.

.

Speak Your Piece, do you realize how many hundreds of people resent your transcribing messages from the M.P., yet they continue to buy the paper and read every word? You do not hurt my feelings when you do not choose to print what I call in, but I do appreciate your printing whatever you choose to print. I know that it is your decision, but I don’t want you to lose customers. Should I call in everything that agrees with everybody and everything everybody says, or should I be controversial and call in all this stuff that I know would upset people? Weed Eaters, alcoholics, skinheads, and Grassy Fork folk are always carrying on about anything I call in and all they have to do is not read it or skip it or not comment about it. Do you want me to continue to call in or do you want me to quit? I will do whichever you wish. Have a nice day. Good day to you and thank you very much. This is the M.P. continuing to speak whatever he or she thinks about a situation. By the way, who in the hell is the M.P.? Good day.

.

Happy Easter, my bunny. I love you. You are my angel.

.

To a certain person: You mean the whole world to me. I don’t know what I would do without you. You are my angel and I love you.

.

To the man in a black Ford truck who is hauling garbage from Eolia and dumping it at a convenience center on the Virginia side: You will caught if you don’t stop.

.

Question for Letcher County Judge/ Executive Jim Ward: Did you and your deputy judge move your office to the Jenkins Senior Citizens Center? I live up on the hill from the center and if I need to talk to you two about anything I’ll just come down to the center.

.

Well folks, there are several birthdays in the month of April starting with Kathy Trent, our niece, on April Fool’s Day that has already passed; Paul and Michelle Murphy’s 10th anniversary was on April 5; Teresa Good, our first cousin, better known as Susie, will be on Friday the 13th; Lorraine Stewart, maiden name Miles, is on April 19; Ross Maggard’s is April 22, he’s Diann Pack’s oldest son by her first marriage; and Sue Banks. Well, that’s all. Thank you, Stanley Pack.

.

Letcher County District Judge Kevin Mullins may not gain the recognition of a Byrd Hogg or a Clarence Darrow, but based on a recent action he may be compared to the likes of Moe, Larry or Curly. It seems that if an injured spouse endures years of physical and mental abuse inside a marriage there may come a slap on the wrist … or not. There may come an EPO warning not to do this again in the future … or not. In a normal situation an individual ordered not to do physical harm to his wife and daughter by a judge would not thereafter be granted custody of that child by that same judge. But, Katie bar the door, if the abused wife texts the husband to check on that child too many times, well, open those jail doors, we got us a real genuine criminal here. That woman tried to contact that husband too many times and that judge signed that summons to possibly put that woman in jail to show the future spouses not to annoy their district judge. We will call him Mr. Mullins, because he doesn’t show the legal intelligence to be a judge. Besides, my tax money needs to go elsewhere. If this isn’t shown on a higher media scale in the coming days, it will only be because they haven’t as yet read their email. A judge’s powers are not unlimited.

.

Appalachian Regional Hospital’s treatment of Wayne Fleming was duly noted and will be long remembered by the citizens of this county and eastern Kentucky. Wayne Fleming is one of the most respected, highly regarded leaders in the region and this public relations disaster for ARH is going to affect them for years to come.

.

When I was young the water from our well was crystal clear and free. Now everybody has a water bill. Shouldn’t the people who took away the free water, pay the water bill? When I was young, every four or five years the state highway department repaved the road. Shouldn’t the people who tear up the road, pay for the repaving? When I was young, the air was clear. Shouldn’t the people who cause lung problems pay for the problems caused by the coal dust? The coal industry talks about what they do for us. Think about it.

I fell in love with a beautiful woman 14 years ago. We have not been together for a year, but I still love her more than ever. This is to her: Our son and I love you. We have shared so many good times in life. Baby, I am still here for you forever and always. We have lost so much time together as a family, but I love you more than life itself. You will always be my girl. I pray God will send my angel to my arms. Life is too short. Come to me.
