I was sure glad to see Emma Lou Engle’s news back in. I’m so glad she is doing better and also her husband. I know it’s bad when both are sick. I hope they keep improving. I’ve really worried about them.

I want to thank the people of Jeremiah Baptist Church for being so nice and friendly through the funeral of our cousin Wayne Howard, and for the delicious meal they cooked for the family.

I met so many people there that I hadn’t seen in many years. Bro. Bruce Gilley for one, smiling as usual. There’s no way I can mention all of them; I’d leave some out. I’m not real good at remembering names but I sure enjoyed talking to all of you.

I was so sorry my sisterin law Jenetta Howard had a bad fall and has to have rehabilitation. She is so active. It will be hard for her. She will get good care from her family.

He died in December. He was the son of Hubert Howard of Whitesburg. I’ve been going to some of the 30-day revival at Cram Creek Church. I went last night to hear one of my husband Clyde’s friends. They were good friends and hunting buddies, Bro. Bill Smith. I wish Clyde could have heard him. He would have loved hearing him. I know I did.

His wife Imogene has been having health problems, but she’s doing better and I hope she keeps improving. They are fine, hard-working people.

My niece Shannon Banks will be having a birthday March 25. I’m not sure how old she will be so I can’t tell on her.

Bennett Welch, I sure did enjoy your Memories of WHS last week, especially Merlene ( Davis) Day. You’ve still got the boyfriend you had in high school (Doyle Day) and your ambition was to make a good wife, and you got both. You’re also a good mother and have a good grandson-in-law, Kevin Day, for us.

I knew most of the others too, especially Carol Fugate and Jerry Barker. I always read that and always know some of them.

My brother John Howard has been visiting our sister Judy Greene. I think she is going to Ohio to visit her daughter Tabitha Spencer and her family. She will enjoy that. Judy and I talked about an hour. It was like a visit almost.

Hubert Howard’s daughter Tina Howard had cancer surgery a few days ago and she needs everyone’s prayers. She’s my niece.

Also, keep Shirley Niece and Sonia Fields in your prayers. So many people are sick. I hope they will all get better soon.

I hope this cold spell gets over soon. I’m ready for springtime. Some of the flowers are blooming. I’m an outside person. I love to work outside, but I don’t have a garden. No place for one.

My son Larry’s wife Linda always has one and she’s good to share. I sure appreciate it.

Sunday was a beautiful day, sunshine and warm. I hope it will stay with us for awhile.

I enjoyed getting to go to Sunday School and church. I had missed some because of funerals.

I probably should remind everyone about our Howard family reunion on May 25. Time goes so fast. We are looking forward to it. It will be on Pine Mountain at James Pennington’s place.

My brother John Howard is back home now. I went out and visited him and we had a good visit. Time went by so fast I was almost late for church.

I’m sorry I didn’t have better news. Maybe some good news will happen for next week.

May God bless all of you. Try to be in church some this week if you are able.
