Hoping all had a great week and hoping all the guys had a happy Father’s Day.

Sorry to hear that another great lady from Cowan, Hazel Rayburn, died. Her health had been up and down for the last few months. I thought she was going to outlive everyone on Cowan.

She died on Saturday, June 15. I think she was 91, and always had a great memory. She may go home now and see her parents, brothers and sisters who have gone on before, and her daughter Sonia, son Michael and husband Earl.

She will be missed by all of us, especially Irene Day. They were always good friends.

Keep Terry and family, and Carol Ison and family in prayer. She was one of the cooks at Big Cowan School when I was a child. Seems like everyone liked her cooking then, and later when she was still able to cook.

My prayers go out to Merita and her family, Donna and her family, Saman- tha and her family, Becky and her family, and Jimmy Darrell McIntosh, and any of those I forgot to mention. She had such a big family, and it is hard to remember them all, but you are in my thoughts.

Also, in memory this month: Deola Day died two years ago on June 10; Burdine Gilley died two years ago on June 21; Marvin Taylor Sr. died two years ago on June 22. All of them are missed by family and friends. Your families are still in our prayers.

Our reunion of the Willie Fields and Susan Maggard Fields family will be July 6 at Shelter #2, Kingdom State Park, starting at 10 a.m. Everyone is invited. Bring a covered dish.

This has been a crazy week. Cannot get my bearings together. Cannot think of much to write about anymore.

Seems like my article is always about sickness or death. Wish I had cheerful things to write about.

I was glad to see Pam Maggard Brewer the other day. She stopped by to see Irene and Eugene Day. Eugene had another cataract taken off of his eye. She stopped to see how he was doing. He is doing pretty well.

Brack Sexton’s family had a Father’s Day cookout. All seemed to enjoy themselves.

Haymond Pentecostal Church had a supper Saturday evening, and King’s Chapel had a men’s breakfast on Sunday morning.

Lots of activities going on Father’s Day. Wish my dad was still around. He died on Father’s Day weekend, 25 years ago. So it is a sad time for me. I enjoyed the years he was still with us. He and my father-in-law both died on Father’s Day weekend.

Well, time to get off of here. Have a great week, be good to one another. Until next time.
