Monday, June 10

• At 2:50 p.m., a woman telephones the Letcher County Sheriff ’s Office to report that her daughter and her daughter’s boyfriend “got into it Friday night” before the boyfriend brought the daughter to her mother’s house. The mother says her daughter went back to the boyfriend’s house at 11:30 p.m. on June 8 to gather her belongings. The mother says the boyfriend is now accusing her daughter of stealing a gun from him and is in the process of obtaining an arrest warrant from the Letcher County Attorney’s Office.

• At 5:40 p.m., a caller from the emergency room at the Whitesburg hospital notifies the sheriff ’s office that a woman from Poppy Drive, Haymond, has been bitten by a dog whose owner has not been identified.

• At 5:46 p.m., a woman calls the sheriff ’s office to complain about another woman who is on house arrest coming to the caller’s home at Abaco Court, Whitco, and beating on her door.

Tuesday, June 11

• At 5:12 p.m., a woman by the last name of Sexton calls the sheriff ’s office to report that a woman by the last name of Raleigh has just called her home, address not listed, and made threats against her. Ms. Sexton asks that the incident be included on the police log.

• At 5:45 p.m., a woman calls the sheriff ’s office to ask that she be escorted by police while retrieving her belongings from a house at Morning Glory Lane, McRoberts. The woman has a signed court order authorizing her to visit the home. A Fleming-Neon City Police officer will provide the escort. At 7:02 p.m., the officer reports that none of the woman’s belongings can be recovered at this time because the man of the house is not at home.

• At 9:18 p.m., a woman calls the sheriff ’s office to report that an intoxicated man stopped by her apartment building at Bach Court, Whitesburg, and “said some things” to her. The woman said the man left the scene in a blue car and asks that an officer contact her.

Thursday, June 13

• At 4:20 p.m., a man from Seco Drive, Seco, calls the sheriff ’s office to complain that no one responded to his 9-1-1 call for help after he had been held at gunpoint in his home by another male armed with a .38 caliber handgun.

• At 4:51 p.m., a woman calls on her cellular phone from West Whitesburg to report that the occupants of a yellow car are acting suspicious at Whitaker Bank’s location near Wendy’s.

• At 5:12 p.m., a man calls the sheriff ’s office to report that he and his family just arrived home along KY Highway 931N, between Cane Hollow and Sugar Run Road in the Camp Branch-Colson area, to find the door to their home damaged by burglars. The man is searching to see what is missing from his home.

• At 8:03 p.m., a woman calls the sheriff ’s office from Upper Bottom, Whitesburg, to complain about a neighbor’s dog jumping a fence and scaring the woman and her one-year-old child. The woman advises a sheriff ’s dispatcher that if a similar incident occurs again she will kill the dog, the dog’s owners and burn the dog’s owners’ house down.

• At 8:30 p.m., a Whitesburg City Police officer contacts an Upper Bottom woman who has made threats against a dog and its owners after the dog jumped a fence and scared the woman and her infant child. The officer says he advised the woman against making threats of murder and arson while talking to police. The officer says he has also contacted the dog’s owners and advised them to keep the animal inside a fence.

Friday, June 14

• At 1:55 p.m., a woman calls the sheriff ’s office from her cellular phone and says she is trying to leave her husband, but that he won’t allow her to leave or take anything with her from the couple’s home on Highway 7 North at Colson, near Love’s Branch. The woman says the argument is verbal only.

• At 6:05 p.m., a woman calls the sheriff ’s office to report a couple cursing and arguing during a child exchange at Abdoo Street, Neon.

• At 8:30 p.m., a man calls the sheriff ’s office to request that an officer conduct a welfare check on a friend who lives at Lewis Creek, Partridge. An officer arrives at the scene later to find no one at the home, which is locked and secure.

• At 11:02 p.m., a caller asks the sheriff ’s department to conduct a welfare check at a home at Sandlick, Whitesburg, where a woman is reported suicidal with access to drugs.

Saturday, June 15

• At 3:23 p.m., the sheriff ’s office is asked to send an officer to the Hemphill Community Center to unlock a red Ford Focus whose driver has locked the keys inside.

• At 10:28 p.m., the sheriff ’s office is asked to send extra patrol to the Letcher-Knott county line near Colson (in the old Whitesburg airport area), where four-wheelers, dirt bikes and side-by-sides are being disruptive.

• At 12:45 p.m., a Linefork man calls the sheriff ’s office to report he has been assaulted by a man who struck him in the head with an unidentified weapon. The man identifies his alleged attacker and is referred to the Letcher County Attorney’s Office.

• At 12:48 p.m., a sheriff ’s deputy talks with a car owners whose windshield has been broken. The man believes the windshield was damaged while water lines were being installed
