Community center to have working

By DORIS ADAMS

Please keep this date on your calendar and in your mind. The Campbell Branch Community Center will be having a benefit and a working from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 5.

The community center really needs the help. We will take donations of cleaning supplies, paper towels, paper plates, pop, detergent, bleach, and gift certificates from the local grocery stores for the Friday night supper, roof repair materials to stop the leaks, any cash donations made payable to Campbell Branch Community Center, and things that can be auctioned off or to sell chances on.

There are many ways you can help this community center. Give a few hours of your time. We have plenty of jobs that will need your time.

Anyone who lives away and would want to donate to the upkeep of the center, or if you went to school there and want to donate in honor or in memory of a special teacher, you can send donations to: Campbell Branch Community Center, 3104 HWY 1103, Hallie, KY 41831. Large or small donations will be appreciated.

This is really a special place to visit, and they have many activities in the building. They also have a full supper with an entrée, dessert and drink for $6 every Friday evening, starting at 6 p.m.

Music starts at 7 p.m. and admission is $5 to pay the bands. Anyone who wants to dance, can.

We will have free food for the people who will come out and work. This will be a good way to do something for the center which does so much for people.

I look forward to seeing a regular Friday crowd, and a lot of other folks too. Please help support this event.

For more information, call Fred and Alice Campbell, 633-5417 or 606-438- 5415; Darlene Campbell, 633-7929 or 634-3388; or Doris Adams, 634-2530.

Come help out our community center. People from Letcher, Knott, Perry, and Leslie counties, Virginia, and many other places come to Campbell Branch to enjoy the music and dancing on Friday night, so there are many people like myself who would not know where to go and visit, listen to music and enjoy fellowship on Friday nights if we did not have people working hard to keep this community center active and open. So this is our chance to show how much we appreciate the Campbell Branch Community Center.

Please donate whatever you can, your time and whatever you feel is right. Thank you and God bless.
