Bakery opening this Thursday

It is official the sheep at Black Sheep Brick Oven Bakery are going to be producing pizza and baked goods Thursday, Friday, and Saturday beginning Thursday, June 14. You may call in for carryout or dine in. Our new hours will be 3 to 9 p.m., three days per week. We may add days and hours as we see demand.

Thursday nights we will host a drum circle so bring your drum or percussion instrument and join us at 7 p.m. Friday Nite Pickin’ will continue as usual every Friday. Saturday nights will feature open mic. Musicians can come sing for their supper every Saturday.

Black Sheep Bakery is now taking orders for loaf breads (white, 9 grain, and honey oat) and hot rolls. We will be baking on Mondays and orders can be picked up on Tuesday mornings at the center by noon. If that time doesn’t work for you we will arrange for you to pick up. We can receive orders through Sunday at 4 p.m. to allow us to get our bakers and ingredients lined up. Message us on Hemphill Community Center’s Facebook or call (606) 671-7023 or (606) 821-2401.

Schedule of events:

June 14: Official opening of Black Sheep Brick Oven Bakery regular business hours. Open weekly on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

June 14: Drum circle 7 p.m.

June 15, at 7:30 p.m.: Cross Country Bluegrass will return for a night of great music and dance. Come on out and support your local musicians. You will love them. We will love having you with us.

June 19: Senior fellowship 10 a.m.

June 19: John Ng’s Four Seasons Martial Arts 5:30 p.m.

June 21, at 7 p.m.: Summer Solstice Community Baking on the longest day of the year. Come bring your bread dough and try your hand at baking your bread in the community brick oven. Just whatever bread you bake at home can be baked in the pans you bake in at home. Noting fancy is required to bake in the brick oven. We will be there to assist you and answer questions. Breaking of bread together will follow.

Friday Nite Pickin’: Children get in free when accompanied by an adult. Open mic at intermission. Family friendly environment.
