Josephine Dazey dies in Indiana


JOSEPHINE DAZEY JOSEPHINE DAZEY Josephine Dazey, 89, died June 1 at her home in Chandler, Ind.

Born in Premium to the late Levi and Viola Adams Joseph, she was the widow of Russell Dazey.

She was a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher at Raikes Hill Baptist Church, Patesville Baptist Church, New Hope Baptist Church and New Haven Baptist Church, and was a member of Creekside Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Richard Dazey and wife Deanna of Winchester, and David Dazey and wife Carol of Chandler, Ind.; two daughters, Karen Temple and husband Greg of Bloomington, Ind., and Debera Witty and husband Charlie of Lebanon, Ill.; two sisters, twin sister Maggie Joseph of Premium, and Mary Tyree of Whitesburg; a brother, Everett Joseph of Premium; nine grandchildren, Matthew Temple and wife Kristina of Ellettsville, Ind., Sarah Bayne and husband Bill of Gosport, Ind, Cynthia Allen and husband Gary of West Row, England, Pamela Meadows and husband Derrick of Winchester, Mark Dazey and wife Kari of Shelbyville, Beth Young and husband Tim, and Nathan Dazey and wife Rachel, all of Chandler, Ind., Shannon Witty and husband Art of Eureka, Mo., and Dustin Witty, of Lebanon, Ill.; and 17 great-grandchildren, Garrison, Dyanna, Samantha, Charlotte, Madelyn, Carter, Hayden, Madison, Kara, Miley, Kaden, Connor, Caitlyn, Harper, Alexandria, Paige, and Isaac.

Funeral services for Mrs. Dazey were held June 6 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel in Evansville, Ind. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery in Newburgh, Ind.
